well I'm not sure what color has to do with texture but the earthy colors with textures make for a more natural feel to a piece, i guess?

When creating textures I like to make them fairly neutral to shades of green unless I'm in a funky mood, but when I collect them, I don't really care because I know that I can make them anything I want/need.

I think that beginner texture aficionados match the color of the texture to their work... just an observation.

It depends on the type of texture. For patterns and whimsical bits brighter or soft colours are better, for grunge neutral earthy tones seem to be popular. I don't like any grungy textures too bright because often there isn't enough contrast to be useful for recolouring, but then pieces that are too dark or monotone are useless too.

It depends on tastes, everything is useful to SOMEONE out there somehow

Thanks for your opinion I notice aswell that a lot of people look for textures which are the right colour for their work - which is why I was asking for peoples opinions. All the textures that I make (at first) are a dark red colour (cause of the images I have) and I wasn't sure what other colour would be helpful
